Hire Fees
Non-commercial groups or other groups promoting participation in sport, the performing arts or recreational activities are our priority.
For fundraising events and ad hoc use the cleaning fee is all that is required for most non-commercial users, whilst a donation is welcome, our priority is providing a venue that allows you to maximise the funds you raise from your event, so no donation is required.*
Those who wish to hold classes, lessons, meetings etc on a weekly or other frequent basis will have a hire fee negotiated based on their impact on the centre, the revenue derived from the use and the financial status of the users (eg a new mothers group that meets once a week for an hour may be charged no hire fee but suggest that those who feel comfortable doing so donate $2 per person).
Who Funds the Centre?
Kick Dance uses the centre in the afternoons and on Saturday day times between February and November. This allows over 600 students per week to learn dance and other performing arts. Kick proudly pays substantial fees for this use and contributes for the majority of the maintenance of the centre. This not only allows us to offer it to community groups for almost no costs, 100% of the hire fees they pay are distributed to the individuals our charity supports (no fees are retained for admin or operational expenses). This allows us to support over an additional 100 individuals per year.
Certus Legal Group funds the administration costs of the centre by utilising their office and staff to answer phones, manage bookings, process mail, organise repairs and maintenance, pay bills etc.
Brisbane City Council is the trustee of this building and leases it to the foundation.
The Queensland Government owns the land on which the building is located.
Where do the Donations/Hire Fees Go?
Donations, unless specifically requested to be used for the improvement/maintenance of the facility, will be distributed to the individuals we support in their entirety (as in 100%, no deductions for administration or costs).
Hire Fees from non-commercial users will only be utilised for the improvement/maintenance of the centre when absolutely necessary or where the user has specifically requested we utilise the fee for an improvement/equipment that themselves (and other users) could benefit from in the future. In most circumstances they will be distributed to the individuals we support in their entirety.
Hire Fees from other commercial users will be applied to the centre for improvement/equipment that non-commercial users have requested or distributed to the individuals we support.
